Water Damage in a Basement Requires Professional Restoration
SERVPRO Dries Out a Water Damaged Basement in Upper Darby
Whether you use your basement for living areas, storage or mechanical systems like your water heater and furnace, or some combination, water and moisture excessive must be managed swiftly.
When there is only a small amount of water, as seen in this image, technicians draw it out using water extraction wands, and even mops. These devices work well on concrete, wood floors, and carpets.
Once the water has been extracted our attention will then move to any residual moisture that may be trapped in flooring, floor coverings or the walls. As basements usually have concrete floors, we will use air movers and dehumidifiers to pull moisture out. Tiles or carpeting will be assessed as to whether they can be dried in place, off-site or need to be removed and replaced.
